Founder story

The art of making change happen.

Why I founded Noviq Partners

I’ve always been curious about how things work, why they work the way they do, and how they could work better.

As a child, that curiosity meant drawing, exploring, designing and building things. Today, it drives my passion for helping organisations solve complex challenges, connect people and turn ambitious ideas into meaningful results.

After more than 20 years working on international business and technology transformations, including at Shell, ING and Santander, I’ve come to a simple conclusion:

Most organisations don’t have a strategy problem. They have an execution problem.

They have ambitious plans, talented people and significant investments in technology and change. Yet too often, the gap between strategic ambition and actual business results remains frustratingly large.

And I believe there must be a better way.

Turning strategy into results

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with leadership teams navigating complex transformations, from technology modernisation and new operating models to enterprise-wide strategic change.

What has always fascinated me is the challenge of making all the moving parts work together.

Strategy, technology, people, processes, investments and organisational priorities are deeply interconnected. Yet in many organisations, they are managed separately.

The result is familiar: competing priorities, fragmented initiatives, slow decisions, unclear accountability and teams working incredibly hard without necessarily moving in the same direction.

Over the years, I’ve helped organisations address these challenges by designing and building Transformation Offices, Strategy Acceleration Offices and enterprise portfolio management capabilities.

These functions create something that is often missing: a central capability that connects strategy with execution and brings the structure, discipline and rhythm needed to make progress.

Not another layer of governance or reporting.

But an engine for execution.

A place where strategic priorities become clear commitments, where leaders make informed decisions, where dependencies and obstacles are addressed, and where progress is measured through business outcomes rather than activity.

I’ve seen first-hand how powerful this can be. Improving delivery performance, increasing productivity and reducing time to market.

These experiences reinforced something I strongly believe:

Successful transformation isn’t about doing more things. It’s about focusing on the right things, connecting the dots and creating the conditions to deliver them exceptionally well.

Structure creates freedom. People make the difference.

I’ve learned that effective transformation requires a careful balance.

Organisations need structure, discipline and clear accountability. They need an execution rhythm that connects strategic priorities, investment decisions and delivery. They need transparency about progress, risks and the value being created.

But structure alone doesn’t deliver transformation.

People do.

One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been building teams and bringing together people from different disciplines, cultures and perspectives.

Creating an environment where people feel trusted, supported and empowered to take ownership. Where difficult conversations can happen openly. Where leaders are willing to challenge assumptions and teams have the confidence to move forward.

Because I’ve always believed that great leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about helping people find the answers together and giving them the confidence to act.

And when you combine that with clear direction, effective decision-making and disciplined execution, extraordinary things can happen.

Why Noviq Partners?

Over time, I started questioning whether the traditional approach to transformation consulting was really delivering everything organisations needed.

Too often, companies invest heavily in strategies, methodologies and external advice, but struggle to build the internal capabilities required to execute consistently and sustain results.

I wanted to create something different.

A consulting firm that doesn’t simply advise organisations on what to change, but helps them build the capabilities to make change happen.

That idea became Noviq Partners.

Our focus is on helping organisations accelerate strategy execution, improve transformation performance and create measurable business value.

We bring together strategic thinking, hands-on transformation experience and practical approaches to designing operating models, establishing Strategy Acceleration Offices and strengthening enterprise execution capabilities.

But we also want to go further.

Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies offer an opportunity to rethink how transformation itself works.

Imagine organisations that can identify delivery risks earlier, understand dependencies more clearly, make better investment decisions and continuously connect strategic priorities with actual business outcomes.

Our ambition is to combine experienced people, repeatable approaches and intelligent technology to make transformation simpler, faster and more effective.

Not by adding complexity.

But by removing it.

Always curious. Always moving forward.

Outside work, I’m happiest exploring new places, travelling, hiking in the mountains or looking at the world through the lens of my camera.

Photography has taught me something that also applies to business: sometimes changing your perspective is all it takes to see something you’ve been missing.

That curiosity, combined with a genuine interest in people and a determination to make things better, has shaped my career.

I enjoy connecting ideas, challenging conventional thinking, bringing people together and building something that creates lasting value.

And after more than two decades, that still gives me energy.

Because the real art of transformation isn’t designing the perfect strategy. It’s creating the clarity, alignment and momentum to make it happen.

That’s why I founded Noviq Partners.

Smarter Change. Brighter Outcomes.
